- Think through things in your life that detract from the message of the cross of Christ. What are they? What adjustments
need to be made to prioritize the message of the cross?
- Would people characterize your life as a “little Christ?”
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 and 1 Timothy 1:3-11. How important is it to God that His people hold “sound doctrine?”
- List 5 major points of sound doctrine—vital truths that define true believers and genuine faith. Give biblical support for
the importance of these doctrines.
- It was stated in the message that “speak the same thing” can only mean “God’s thing.” Do you think God means one
thing when He speaks in His Word? (NOTE—there are lots of ways to apply biblical principles—this question has to do
with what GOD means when He speaks).
- “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.” (1 Corinthians 1:18). Why does God tell us this?
(Choose one)
- to allow us to determine who is saved and who isn’t
- to move us to speak and live His things to the people around us
- “To us who are being saved…” How does what was said about salvation being an on-going process affect the way you
think about salvation?
- Discuss things that are true of believers in Jesus because of the power of God through the message of the cross (1
Corinthians 1:18,19).
- How would you rate your current state of “knowing Jesus?” How can the depth of your relationship with Him grow?
