1 Corinthians 7:1-16 was our text this week.

- What are things the world believes and promotes about marriage and/or relationships that seem to conflict with what God
says?

- Read
1 John 2:15-17.  Why should believers in Jesus Christ not hold on to what the world promotes on any issue?

- Read the following.  Is marriage a 50/50 arrangement or 100/100?  Or is it something else?  How realistic is it to think of
marriage as a 100/100 relationship (answer carefully, considering
Proverbs 3:5,6)?
Genesis 2:22-24    Ephesians 5:28-31   1 Corinth. 7:3-5

- Discuss the idea of a 100/100 relationship in marriage related to God’s definition of love as shown to mankind by the
Lord Jesus (see
1 John 3:16) - “seeking the best for the other person regardless of the cost to you.”

- Read
1 Corinthians 7:10,11 and Mark 10:1-12.  Is it proper to leave a marriage for any reason besides adultery?
Consider what was stated in the message regarding “faithfulness” in marriage.  Do you agree with this interpretation?  Does
God’s Word?

- Perhaps you or someone you know is in a marriage with a nonbeliever.  What is the primary consideration for the believer
in the marriage according to
1 Corinthians 7:12-16?

- Pray for marriages—including those you know who are struggling with issues referred to in this passage.
