Our text this Sunday was Isaiah 9:2-7
- Discuss honestly—”What if God disappeared from your life, how would it really change?”
- What need do you sense of a “Wonderful Counselor?” Discuss the implications if you feel like you do not have a need—
why would God provide one?
- Read John 16:7. Why would it be more advantageous to us for Jesus to go away and for another
Counselor/Comforter/Helper to come? (Note: the word “another” means “another of the same kind)
- It was mentioned in the message that God has provided counsel through the church, through marriage, through His Word
and through the Holy Spirit. Discuss and find Scripture to support or reject these connections as being related to the
Wonderful Counselor.
- IF our lives were indwelt by the Wonderful Counselor, God Himself living in us, what would be different?
- Related to the previous question, read the following passages. Does the Holy Spirit live in believers? What difference
should that make in us?
Romans 8:9-11 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19
2 Corinthians 13:5 Philippians 2:13 Colossians 1:27 1 John 4:4
